Nearly 150 years ago, my great-great grandparents donated a corner of their farmland to the Catholic Church. Those acres became Red Bud Catholic Cemetery. For a time, a wooden church also stood on the site.
The church is no longer standing. Red Bud itself began disappearing from most maps when its post office closed in 1910. But the cemetery, although no longer a church property, can still be found at the corner of 42nd Road and 32nd Road, northeast of Udall, Kansas.
This site is dedicated to Red Bud Catholic Cemetery, to preserving its history and our memories of its permanent residents, and as a resource for their families.
